Set among the red cliffs of Zion Canyon and the quiet surroundings of Springdale, this retreat agenda focuses on structured team sessions and a single guided hike to create space for reflection and shared experience.
Zion stands out for teams that want a dramatic natural setting with a strong sense of escape. Red rock canyons, wide open landscapes, and quiet surroundings create an environment that helps teams reset and focus.
The closest airport is St. George Regional Airport (SGU), about 1 hour away by car. Many teams also fly into Las Vegas (LAS), which is around 2.5 to 3 hours away and offers more flight options.
Spring (March to May) and fall (September to November) offer the best conditions, with temperatures typically between 59–86°F. Summer can be very hot, while winter is quieter with cooler temperatures.
Springdale is the main base, located right at the park entrance, making it the most practical option. Nearby towns like Hurricane or St. George can work for larger groups needing more accommodation flexibility.
Teams usually focus on accessible and safe outdoor experiences such as walking sections of The Narrows (conditions permitting), Riverside Walk, Emerald Pools trails, guided hikes, scenic bike rides, and stargazing. For more adventurous groups, guided canyoneering with professionals can be arranged, but most teams stick to moderate activities that work well for mixed fitness levels.
A 3 to 4 day format is common. This allows enough time for work sessions, at least one major hike or activity, and time to enjoy the surroundings.
Zion offers a unique desert landscape with iconic red rock formations that feel very different from forest or mountain retreats. The visual impact of the environment adds a distinct element to the experience.
Yes, transportation is important. While Springdale is walkable, teams often need vans or shuttles to reach trailheads, nearby towns, and activity locations.
For remote teams, Zion offers a setting that encourages strong connection through shared outdoor experiences. In our experience, teams we’ve hosted here bond quickly through the challenge and scale of the environment.
Zion is better suited for small to mid-sized groups. Larger teams may need to split accommodation between Springdale and nearby towns.
We got incredibly positive feedback. Many people said it was the best offsite we've ever had. So that's obviously the most important thing from like an organizational point of view. It was super nice working with you guys. I really enjoyed it. It was the first year we had an agency like you guys on board and it did really help, especially now having a much bigger team.
We did send a survey to everyone after the event. And the feedback was very positive. Everyone loved the hotel. People were saying that the food at the venue was very good, which I agree with. The rooms were great. The meeting space was perfect for us. Obviously the beach and the area were perfect. I think it was a great location for our team. There were some people that said this was the best summit they’ve attended.
The feedback has been impeccable. Everybody loved the hotel, loved the staff, loved the support from Surf Office, everything. All the expectations were, you know, not even just met, but went beyond. We loved the way we were taken care of.
The overall feedback was really fantastic. Everybody really liked the venue. They really liked being in the same location. We had a wonderful partnership and we’d love to work with you again.
We walked into it anxious. We walked away from it absolutely amazed by the results. It was so well organized. I would never have been able to do that alone, you pulled that off entirely. It was amazing. The team is buzzing! It blew people away. It definitely blew us away.
I was stressed out before the retreat cause I never did the planning. As soon as we arrived to the hotel, they knew everything and I didn’t have to worry about anything. Big thumbs up to the Surf Office team for the general flexibility, and for the communication.
It was absolutely perfect. There wasn’t one thing that I can criticize. We had a fantastic time, really really good. It went so smoothly, everybody was very happy. Anybody that asked now about how the offsite went, I just say: “It was amazing, you only can use 1 company, you don’t need to use anybody else”.
